For the past year, I have been inviting women to step forward in front of my camera and claim their space with a fine art portrait photography experience just for them. These are real women who are ready to be seen and celebrated, transformed from the inside out with confidence, self-love and joy.

I don’t usually celebrate myself and I would like to make efforts toward changing that. Now that I'm 50, I believe that if we don’t celebrate ourselves, we miss out on something wonderful that is in our control.

I’m so proud of what I’ve accomplished and been through. I wouldn’t trade my trials for anything!

I went from feeling a little self-conscious and self-indulgent to believe it would actually be wrong NOT to have a full photo session of me, for me!

I wanted to do something for myself for a change, since becoming a mom it’s been all about my kids. I wanted to have professional photos of myself as special mementos to leave behind.

I like being over 50. So empowering. No one asks me to smile anymore. I am expected to speak up and be assertive. I wish I had half the understanding and knowledge of life that I have now when I was in my 20s. I feel a sense of responsibility towards all women: young women who might be in the "smile more and don't speak up too loud" trap and older women who feel like they are losing themselves in menopause or old age. I want them to feel supported.

I feel strong and beautiful and interesting, more now than at any time in my youth.

I was diagnosed with a very aggressive stage 2B breast cancer between my initial consultation and our photoshoot.

This shoot was my chance to celebrate and say goodbye to the woman I was before cancer. Say goodbye to my scar-free body, my hair and my past.

It was an incredible experience and one that I will cherish forever."

I am a very proud mother of two daughters and I have a wonderful husband and a good life. I am a very positive person. I love life! I have high energy and enjoy surrounding myself with good friends and I am grateful to have a loving family.

For the photoshoot we chose a very special location from my childhood.

I also chose a few accessories and clothing items that were memorable to me from my high school prom dress to my mother's scarf.

I was very nervous about being in front of the camera, But after just five minutes, I forgot the camera was there and the whole session just felt like I was hanging out with a friend!
